These are images and descriptions of Maytag dryer parts I describe how to
diagnose in my dryer repair guide.
Note that in most cases it is best to order parts by model number!!
Blower Wheel
The blower wheel blows air across the clothes and through the vent removing the moisture from the clothes and sending it outside. On Maytag dryers, the blower wheel often wears out and becomes noisy. In this case, you have to replace it because it’s not blowing properly; therefore your clothes are not getting dried efficiently. There are a few different blower wheels that Maytag dryers use so you have to order by model number. AppliancePartsPros.com
Idler Pulley
The idler pulley keeps tension on the belt. On Maytag dryers, the idler pulley often gets noisy and needs to be replaced. There are a few different idler pulleys that Maytag dryers used so you need to order this by model number. Idler pulleys can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com
Drum Roller
On Maytag dryers, the drum rides on two sometimes three rollers and they often get noisy and needs replacing. Rollers can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com
Heater- Newton Style
The heater provides heat to dry clothes efficiently. This heater is for the Newton style Maytag dryer. Dryer heating elements can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com
Heater- Herrin Style
This heater is used on Herrin style Maytag dryers and it is located above the drum- the part number is LA1044. This part can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com.
Herrin-Style Fuse/Hi-Limit Kit
This kit includes two hi-limits; one for gas dryers, one for electric dyers and a thermal fuse that fits both- part number LA1053. Note that you will only use two of the parts in this kit. If one of these parts is bad you will need to replace both of them. If you have to replace this part check the vent because a stopped up vent can cause this part to go bad. This part can be purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com
