Dryer not working at all

I have a Maytag Performa Dryer. It is about 6 years old.It does not come on at all. We have checked the outlet on the wall, we have checked the plug that connects to the dryer. We have checked the door, we have checked the right knob that turns clockwise that has the settings from on to off all with volt meter and the meter shows that there is power in all of these areas. HELP

AnswerHi Michael,
Without the model number I can’t say for sure but I am almost sure that the heating element is located at the back top of the cabinet. Raising the top of the dryer can access this element. Disconnect the power before doing so.
If you raise the top and cannot see a heating element at the back top then you have a different model ignore this answer and give me the model number.
If you do find the heating element there then you have the model I believe you have, follow these instructions.
On the metal can that houses the heating element you will see two thermostats, one large and one small. The small thermostat is more than likely your problem. Take the wires off the thermostat and check for continuity across it with an ohmmeter. If it is open replace it and if not the problem is elsewhere.
Let me know what you find.
Thank you,
